Honey is one of the most attractive products of Morella. It is the result of nature and human labour, and it is still prepared in the tradition way. The fields of this land and the area of Els Ports are rich in herbs such as rosemary, lavender and thyme, but also shrubs and plants where the bees produce an excellent thousand-flowers honey. All the food establishments of Morella sell this delicatessen, which, a part of its taste it has nutritional and medicinal properties. Virgin honey is processed using traditional methods, which allows you to enjoy all its essence.

Honey gives us vitality, energy, and it is high in nutritional values such as minerals, vitamins, proteins, and carbohydrates, and it also strengthens the immune system. Note also other high value products such as propolis and royal jelly.

Beekeeping carries the wisdom of Morella's tradition, and honey is also very present in cooking. It participates in the development of the curd, but it is also one of the main ingredients in products such as cheese pastry, like the requesón with honey or donuts topped with this golden liquid. Honey is also used in modern recipes: you can taste the honey in salads, in sauces, vinegars and in pickles, liquors or caramelized mushrooms.
